The Mulleavy Sisters know how to make things exciting again after for several seasons their collection became predictable and repetitive. We remember they goes extremely goth Predator-ish tribal on last year Spring/Summer collection and then goes extremely angelic almost ghostly for their last Fall/Winter, for now they decide to back to the Mother Earth and takes the inspiration from nature and its solid elements.
Experimenting with fabrics and garments, there's some stiffness emerging from the shape and silhouettes mixed with the signature touch of tribal, an amalgamation of many elements as Kate Mulleavy stated, which result eclectic garments that resembling Northern California Redwood skins, earth plates, porcelains, carved wood and rotten leaves. The essentials pieces are knitwear with cutting details, croco dress, sarong skirts, geometric printed pants and tops, and blue & white dress that looks like antique chinoiserie, all with intricate shape and accentuation. To make it even better. Rodarte paired their clothes with big chunky wedges that complementing the complexity of the clothes with their shoegasmic designs
Rodarte like always pay an extra attention for the makeup and hairdo, this time they choose natural side front bang and add some hairclips for the hairdo and shimmering pastel and nudish gold lipstick for their models. I'm loving the makeup and hairdo so much, every girl looks divine like some Autumn fairy. The funny thing is I do think this collection feels more Autumn than Spring and their latest Fall/Winter collection actually looks more Spring than this collection. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm blown away with this killer collection and for sure this is my favorite show for New York Fashion Week so far, everything is amazing, the clothes is very rich and precise, gorgeous makeup and hairdo and great casting of models, the more I see it, the more I love this collection. Rodarte, once again, became cult sensation.
